Activities

To train the students in basic communication skills in English, the college added Spoken English programme for B.A. and B.Com students. The students are given three months training under this programme. The college has a language laboratory which is used to give the students adequate practice on computer as well as through various BBC videos to make them familiar to the language.

SCOPE (Society for Creation of Opportunities through Proficiency in English) and DELL (Digital English Language Laboratory) Assessment Centre for English language proficiency (Associated with Cambridge University) which trains the students for various competitive exams in English.

To train the youth of this semi urban area, the college has well equipped computer laboratory which runs programmes like Tally, Basic Computer training and Basic Internet. The college arranged computer literacy programme for the First Year B.A. and B.Com students. The students were trained and explained various aspects of computer. They were encouraged to use computer and internet in their day-to-day work.

To promote confident building among the students Economic association is formed. This association organizes various programmes such as elocution, essay writing competition, debate on current affairs, interview facing techniques, basic information regarding competitive examinations,

A week long Co-operative training Programme was organized in the college in collaboration with Gujarat Co-operative Federation Mehsana. Total 32 students took active participation and learnt detail system how to develop their own co-operative societies in future.

The college was given Rs 7, 00,000 seed money to start Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication. After successful beginning of this course, college has taken another opportunity given by UGC in XI Plan for new courses under C.O.P. The college has applied and presented its demand in front of the concerned committee at UGC office in New Delhi. Various courses such as Diploma in Chain Management, Diploma in Foreign Trade, Diploma in marketing management etc were demanded and positive reply is awaited.

The Literary club is responsible for the literary activities of the college as well as guest lecture and wall magazine on various literary aspects. The students are encouraged to read good books and they can also contribute good articles and anecdotes they have read. It’s a platform where students can share their reading with others.

The college invited local entrepreneurs and eminent personalities from the service sectors like Banking, Insurance, and Management etc. to deliver lecture on issues related to their fields and the job opportunities for the students. Their ideas and experiences motivated the students.

Blood Donation and Thealesamia Check-up Camp for the students of the college to make them understand their social responsibility and better health.
Health Awareness Programme which included Thyroid and Yogic Therapy awareness programme.
Orientation Programme for NSS Volunteers and NCC Cadets was organized to inform them about the various activities conducted under this banners. They were informed about the tasks they are supposed to perform and its importance.
Environmental awareness programme through Tree Plantation and Land scrapping and gardening. The college planted saplings in the campus as well as in various surrounding area under this programme.
Our loving book under Vache Gujarat - Department of Gujarat:
Gujarati Department of the college arranged various reading programmes for the students and they were motivated to read books.
Celebration of Birth Day of Great Gujarati Poet- Umasankar Joshi
The college celebrated Birth Day of Great Gujarati Poet- Umasankar Joshi and experts delivered their talk on his works and his literary genius.
Celebration of Blind Day- a sum of Rs 911 was donated by students.

As part of the cultural activity of the college, Patriotic Songs Competition was organized. The students from various classes participated enthusiastically and showed their talent.

To develop the taste of literature in the students, the college organized Poetry Recitation competition. The students recited poems and showed their love for literature and poetry.

As part of the literary activities, the college organized the Elocution Competition. It provided the students a good platform to express their views on the various issues. The winners and the participants were felicitated by the college.

To develop writing skill in the students, the college organized Essay Writing Competition. The students participated with zeal and their written expression gave a good feedback to further guide them for creative writing. The winners and the participants were felicitated by the college.

The college always motivates the students for soft skills development. Debate competition was organized by the college with a view to improve their oral expression and debating skills. The winners and the participants were felicitated by the college.

Inter college Quiz Competition was organized by the college under Vocational Guidance Cell and the students of various colleges participated in it. Our college student was selected at State level quiz competition organized by BISAG at Gandhinagar

Every year the college celebrates Independence Day in its ground. This year the college invited Mrs Ansuyaben Parikh a donor for the flag hoisting ceremony. The college staff and the students attended the programme and also paid tribute to our freedom fighters.

2000 students participated –approach towards holistic education from value education with collaboration with Spiritual Society of India and C.N. Arts & B.D. Commerce College. Programme was organised in five colleges and five Hostels in and around Kadi.

Personality Development Programme was organized for the overall development of the students and they were also taught various life coping skills. Jesis Kadi and Amhedabad supported this programme.

College also celebrated religious festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Navaratri in secular environment.

Yoga classes from 14th September to 24th September for college students.the Yoga expert demonstrated and taught the students various Yogasan and they were explained the various benefits of this ancient Indian practice of work out and meditation.

Teachers’ day celebration. 35 students participate as teachers, principal, and administrative posts.

The students of the college visited Commonwealth Train Exhibition at Gandhinagar.

The college also organized Film show on Classical Books, Mehndi Competition, Theme based Poster Making competition ,AIDS Awareness programme , Educational Tour, Patangotsav Kite Festival in Swarnim Gujarat, Rangoli theme based “Beti Bachao” ( Save the Girl Child)

For the Mental, Physical and Emotional development of the students college organized Physical Fitness Programme. Prof. P V Chudhari trained the students in various aspects of fitness and explained them how to lead a healthy life.

The college participated in Table Tennis Tournament- University level at Modasa. One student of the college was selected in University Team.

Planning for Chess Club was under taken for college and involves all the schools and colleges of the district.

The students of the college participated in various sports events at the inter college level, university level and even state level and brought laurels to the college. They Participated Inter-college Net-ball Tournament at Unjha, Inter college Badminton tournament at Mehsana, Inter college Athletic tournament at Patan, Khel Mahakumbh and Swarnim Gujarat Chess mahotsava.

The college runs various courses like B A (Gujarati), B A (Economics) in Arts stream. Keeping in mind the demand of the time, the college introduced B A (English) on self- finance basis from the academic year 2010-11. Total 49 students enrolled in this course.

The college wanted to add vocational courses which can improve the students’ employability and act as an additional merit with their regular degree. So, the course in Journalism and Mass Communication was introduced. Diploma in Human Rights another course and seed money was offered by UGC, New Delhi had been started from 2010.

The institutional management maintains ground to facilitate the conduction of various games at various levels. All the colleges commonly make use of this stadium for conduction of various sports events. Dr. P V Chaudhari, Director of Physical education of the college regularly organizes indoor and outdoor games at college and also motivates the students to participate at various level.

The institution has the provision of various outdoor and indoor games in the college campus. We have a big ground where tracks and field events are also held. We have hosted University level sports competitions here.

We have all the equipments for advance fitness training. It is common campus facility built by local civic body. There is also a Physiotherapy College run by our management in our campus and it has all modern equipments. Our faculties and students can use these facilities.

Auditorium is renovated and we are adding AC facility with more than 270 seating capacity of the hall. It will be echo proof and with all modern sound system, projector and so on. It is regularly used for conducting various cultural, academic activities by all the campus institutions.

The institution regularly conducts various cultural activities. The cultural committee which consists of four faculty members co-ordinate various cultural events in and out-side the campus. College has all the necessary equipments for Fine-Arts, Performing Arts, Music and Dance. College has equipments like percussion, Harmonium, Key-Board, 5.1 channel sound system, drum etc. College has Air-Conditioned Auditorium as well.

The college students take part in Youth Festival and twice the college won prize in them. Our students Mustaffa Ghanchi (B Com) won 3nd prize in Collage in2013-14 and 1st prize in the same event in the 2014-15 at HNG University, Intercollegiate Youth Festival.

The college attempts to develop public speaking skills by encouraging the students to participate in various competition like debate, elocution, extempore, group discussion, and poem recitation and so on.

With the help of DELL under SCOPE, we encourage the students to increase the English language communication skills at the college level. So, all the students are motivated to develop communication skills and soft skills for this purpose.

The institution organized Yoga workshop of National level in 2010. The institution deputes students and faculties for such various health oriented programs. College has more than 100 Yoga mats and adequate space for Yoga sessions.

In collaboration with various NGOs and local agencies, the NSS and CWDC units organize various health checkup and awareness programs Thalassemia checkup, Blood grouping and donation camps, health awareness campaigns
